Splash is a stacking vessel designed by Finnish-German artist Pia Wüstenberg for Utopia & Utility — a piece that holds its own whether assembled as a sculpture or taken apart for everyday use. Its silhouette draws from the spontaneous movement of water: fluid, unhurried, and never quite symmetrical. The hand-blown glass vessel sits within a ceramic base, topped with a hand-turned wooden lid that anchors the composition with warmth and weight.
The glass captures depth in its colour — a rich, layered red that shifts with the light, paired with the cool precision of the ceramic and the quiet grain of the wood. Together, these three materials create a tension that feels alive rather than arranged. When stacked, Splash reads as a single form. When separated, each component becomes independently useful: the glass as a generous vase, the ceramic and wood as bowls or decorative objects.
Every piece is made by hand in a different part of Europe, then assembled in Utopia & Utility's North German workshop. No two are identical.
